JADEITE CABOCHONS
Among all jadeite carvings and jewellery, the cabochon demand the most stringent quality of the jadeite rough.
To be qualified as a top quality jadeite cabochon, its green hue has to be of impeccable consistency and saturation, the crystal granules fine, shape full and well-proportioned, balanced and yet semi-transparent and further gifted with a subtle hint of glow. The Chinese saying ‘a great jade shan’t be carved’ perfectly interprets the utter beauty of the cabochon.
The current Lot 515 on offer is exemplary of such jadeite cabochon excellence, as the necklace and earrings flawlessly integrating the finest colour and texture – a utterly rare collection of treasure.
