FURTHER DESCRIPTION
Hsiao Chin moved from Barcelona to Milan, Italy in 1959, and began what would be the golden era of his artistic career. He became acquainted with many international avant-garde artists, and went on to co-found the “Punto” international art movement with Italian artist Antonio Calderara in 1961.
This pair of artwork was created by Hsiao Chin when he first arrived in Italy. The young Hsiao found himself in 1960’s Europe where a variety of thriving artistic styles collided, his ambitions for creative work is shown in these two Opening and Closing pieces. The overall imagery is vigorous and clean, fully demonstrating the imposing quality of youth, making this a notable work of Hsiao’s earlier days.
