FURTHER DESCRIPTION
Chuang Che is regarded as a testament and a pioneer in Chinese abstract art. Resided in New York for many years, he has uncovered an approach in abstract art that connects Chinese and Western styles. He is yet another key figure in the realm of Chinese abstract art after France-travelling artists Zao Wou-ki and Chu Teh-chun. The Composition series was created by Chuang Che when he resided in New York. The artist’s fresh and enthusiastic emotions can be seen in patches of magnificent colours, together with ink lines created by large brush strokes; they seem to fuse together to create a collage with the colour patches – an iconic form of expression between the 1960’s and the early 1970’s.
