LITERATURE
P.48 - 49, Lotus Pool, Ink and Mixed Works of Dong Xiao - Ming, Kunsthaus Hamburg, Germany, 2011

Without doubt, Dong is an artist who is articulate with his medium as shown by his series of works on lotuses. Whether he renders lotuses on paper, metal, or by ink, imagery or soundtrack, he successfully conveys his lyrical setting for the lotuses. Contemporary artists often attempt to create artwork by experimenting painting techniques with different medium. Dong's method was not to simply replace or layer, but to maneuver the characteristics of the medium to present his ink and brush effect of lotuses. He has gone beyond what has already been seen in the art world and has created his own complete oeuvre of expression.
